Sue Burlatschenko

Agricultural Expert

Sue—one of the forefront experts in swine health and disease resides on a farm outside of Tillsonburg, Ontario with an assortment of pets. She makes up one arm of Pirenzia's scientific research side. Her decades of study and cutting edge research has perfectly prepared her to develop Pirenzia's vaccinations. In addition to working with Pirenzia, Sue also provides expert witness services and actively performs field research.

  • B.Sc from the University of Guelph
  • DVM from the Ontario Veterinary College
  • Diplomate status in Swine Health and Production in 2005
  • Master of Public Health in December 2013
  • Worked in a mixed practice for 3 years
  • Worked on the Ontario Government working on a pork industry initiative program for 3 years
  • The first veterinarian in Canada to diagnose Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea in 2014, transforming how we viewed the disease
  • Teaches part time at the Ridgetown College of Agriculture
  • Traveled to China, South Africa, Malaysia, Phillipines, Jamaica, and Estonia to research swine 
  • Worked with a smallholder pig project in Lesotho in Africa with Bracelet of Hope, an HIV/AIDS charity based out of Guelph, Ontario
  • Started a private practice for a solo swine consultancy business she still runs today
